CSHL & Dream Sports Center Unify Wake County Scholastic Leagues
The Carolina Scholastic Hockey League is extremely pleased to announce that Dream Sports Center of Apex, NC, who has over the past several years provided thought-leadership, innovation and support of scholastic inline hockey programs, has agreed to become a primary partner and supporter of CSHL!
Effective this date, CSHL will be working very closely with Dream Sports Center, as well as it's other primary supporters - Central Carolina Hockey, the Carolina Hurricanes, and CSHL's sanctioning organization USA Hockey Inline, to continue to provide a premium, yet affordable competitive scholastic league offering to students in public and private Middle and High Schools across the state of North Carolina.
Dream Sports Center owners Bob Boucher and Rick Ahmed have always focused on providing a safe, fun, family-oriented atmosphere, and also have recognized CSHL's attention to detail, core values and integrity, and as a result indicated "CSHL and Dream Sports' leagues already have a lot in common. The unification of these leagues can only be a good thing for the schools and the kids." CSHL's League Director Mark Howard agrees, and stated "I am very excited to have Dream Sports years of experience on board, I consider them to be an important and essential addition to CSHL's EcoSystem of supporters and sponsors".Click 'read more' below to read more about this important announcement ...
The Mid-Atlantic Inline Hockey Association - a New Era of Cooperation
Providing a consistent state-wide structure for scholastic inline hockey has always been CSHL's mission. USA Hockey Inline’s organizational influence is one ingredient, however what CSHL has sought is a framework through which it could work with multiple program and facility owners across the state, but in a way that would provide an opportunity to provide a consistent scholastic offering, while also allowing these providers to continue to give rise to high-quality competitive offerings. The newly-formed Mid-Atlantic Inline Hockey Association has provided that ‘communications channel’. Facility Owners, Program Directors and other interested parties from all across the states of North and South Carolina recently came together to discuss the issues that limit the growth of the sport. Among the attendees were principals from all of of the Raleigh-area facilities and programs, including Chuck Carter of Central Carolina Hockey, Bob Boucher of Dream Sports Center, and Mark Howard of the Carolina Scholastic Hockey League.
The open dialog provided the opportunity for everyone involved to arrive at several important points of consensus, and helped the group to understand the common challenges, and how the organizations could work together to achieve their common goals. It was also through this conversation that CSHL, CCH and Dream Sports Center saw the importance and found the common ground to participate in this very important unification effort.
This common ground is based primarily on a shared core value among the organizations: The importance of generating a consistent and continuing value and sense of integrity for program participants. Chuck Carter of CCH recently said: “We always have to put the interests of the youth first. They’re what it’s all about.” On this point, the Carolina Scholastic Hockey League, Central Carolina Hockey, and Dream Sports Center all certainly agree.
